This yellow fiberboard screw is a specially designed board screw for fastening fiberboard, chipboard, or decorative panels onto wood or light-gauge steel joists. It is made from high-strength carbon steel with a yellow chromate or zinc plating for corrosion resistance. The screw often features a countersunk / flat head, Phillips or Pozidriv recess, partial or full thread, and cutting slots or serrations under the head to minimize surface splintering.
