Shield Oxide Water Base Primer is formulated using red iron oxide pigment in an alkyd-like but water-based vehicle. It adheres well to steel and iron (not suitable for bare galvanized). Its protective rust-inhibitive properties make it ideal for interior or exterior steel structures where corrosion protection is required before applying enamel topcoats. The primer offers good adhesion, coverage, and drying characteristics commonly expected in metal preparation systems
