The Crosby A-378 Sorting Hook is designed for use in sorting, picking, and overhead lifting applications. It features a deep, straight throat that allows for easy placement on flat plates or cylindrical shapes. It is forged from alloy steel, quenched and tempered for high strength, and includes a hand guidance handle for safer manipulation. The tip is often pointed for ease of insertion. The hook is rated with a factor of safety (ultimate load) typically 4× the Working Load Limit (WLL). It is used in steel fabrication, rebar handling, plate handling, and general hoisting tasks.
