This Dulux Trade Steel Primer (DX36) is a solvent-based, modified‐alkyd primer designed especially for iron and steel surfaces that are new or have light rust. It features zinc phosphate as the rust-inhibitive agent to protect against corrosion. The primer offers good adhesion, easy brushing and leveling, and a decent spread rate. It is suitable for overcoating with most enamel paints once dry. The product is part of the Steel Primer line in Ghana and broader Dulux Trade markets, used on gates, grills, metal doors, structural steel, or any steel needing protection before topcoat.
